After earning a college degree in English, I married and had three kids. So now I’m a self taught seamstress and mostly take in clothes for alterations. With baby #3 very new, I’m not taking in much right now; my goal by next year is to bring in $800/mo. I’ve done everything from patching holes, recovering cushions, hemming prom dresses and fixing tattered toddler dress up clothes.
This involves receiving mail directly to your address.  The mail though will be for various different addresses.  You will then log each piece of mail into the website of the company you are working for.  You do so by filling a form online that asks for specific details and then keep the mail for the next 6 or so months depending on company policy.
I’m trying to build my business, so I can stay at home. So currently I am working a more-than-full-time job out of the house, and working my Jamberry business in any free time I have! I’ve never liked selling things, but I fell in love with Jamberry’s product, so I knew even if I only bought for myself and family id come out on top. I feel safe having them on my nails, as they’re non-toxic! – Andrea Stewart at Jamberry Nails
Whatever your reasons to search for work-from-home jobs, they're out there. But there are plenty of work-from-home ads out there that will just lead to your losing a lot of money. So a good rule of thumb is to not pay any service that promises you work; they're supposed to pay you. You also will want to heavily research any company you aren't familiar with before you start working with them. If a business looks suspect, at least run it by some friends and family first.
Some moms may not have a quiet background if they have kids around the house most of the day. Other moms may not have a landline phone or just may not enjoy talking to strangers on the phone. If you are not interested in phone jobs for one reason or another, fortunately, there are lots of home-based jobs that does not require a phone and will allow background noise.
Great article, thanks. I’m a Mom of 4, now a hands-on Nanna. Pretty hard to get things done when your kids are small. When my oldest was being bullied at school I was a single Mom and desperately needed money to pay for an alternative private school. So I became an ethical dog breeder. Twenty seven years on I’m still doing it and reckon it beats most other options out there hands down.
After reading this blog I decided to try one of the places – Clickworker – thought it was right up my alley. I assume these are legit online businesses, but unfortunately, as soon as I signed up with all my information – my Facebook account was hacked! I’m concerned as to what else might happen, but hoping that was it and my account at Clickworker was closed fast enough. Just be careful….

More than half a billion products are sold on Amazon every month, making it an incredible opportunity to make money online. But, like everything else that involves making money online, you have to do quite a bit of work to earn it. One option on Amazon is to find products that are already made and buy and sell them at a discount. For example, you could research generic products such as clocks, keychains and mugs to attach to your brand. For an incredible deep dive on how to make extra money with this strategy, check out how digital marketer Neil Patel recently did this as a public experiment right here on his blog.

Sponsored posts work much in the same way as paid guest posts, but they are posted by big businesses instead of individual bloggers. Therefore, the scope for fees is much higher, as businesses have larger marketing budgets than humble bloggers. Having sponsored posts by large companies will also help promote your site as reputable and as a leader in its field.
“The great news is remote work options are – and have been – on the upswing within companies. But the bad news is that it is still really difficult for most job-seekers to find these legitimate job opportunities amidst the scam, junk, and ads mixed in on most job boards out there. With this list, we want to help guide job-seekers to some of the leading, trusted companies that have shown that they incorporate telecommuting in their hiring practices," says Sara Sutton Fell, FlexJobs founder and CEO.

Hey there @Melissa, I know you didn’t originally post to me, but I work for Younique, selling cosmetics at home. What I love about the company is that they focus on selling on social media and the internet, which makes it really convenient. Plus the company and my uplines are so positive and supportive! Not to mention the product is great, so that helps! I would love to talk more about it with you!
Thank you for the response. I’ve been looking into a lot of them and most pan out as scams or “front Companies” that either have been shut down or have horrible reviews(if any). If I happen to find a legit one…. I’ll let you know so that you can offer this info to anyone else that are interested in this type of work. One that I found as a verified scam is “tiny details”, which has changed their name to “Artisan Miniatures”.

Whether you have a website or are still dreaming up ideas for a blog, you can also look into affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, you partner with brands and businesses within the content of your website. If you mention a product or service, you link to that produce or service using a unique affiliate code you received when you signed up for that particular affiliate program. From there, you’ll make money any time someone buys a product or service through your link.

I have two small children and found going to a workplace full time was incredibly difficult alongside meeting the children’s needs (and paying for childcare!). It was very scary leaving a place of security and heading towards the unknown of being self-employed and working from home. I believed in myself and took the plunge to teach online for an established company. It was the best decision. The job is fun and energising and I fit it when my kids are at school. My children are happy and calm and I’m not worried about finances.

However, not matter what method you choose to make money online, understand that you might be able to make some money fast, but for the sizable returns, you'll need significant sweat equity. However, a year from now, you'll be happy you started today. Remember, time is far more valuable than money. Focus on creating passive income streams that will free up your time so that you can quit the rat race and focus on the things that matter. That's the important thing here.
I actually blog from home and make monies. my site is www.legacychangers.org. U get to be passionate about what I speak on because you can do a blog on anything and I bring in income. Cashcrate is my favorite site and the one that I’ve received the most checks from. I’ve been doing it for about a year now and honestly have never had a problem with it.You earn money by doing free offers, surveys, watching ads, shopping online, participating in live contests and referring your friends and family members to the site.Cashcrate is one of the most popular GPT sites having 990,000+ members.I have made close to $3000 using this great Get Paid To Site. The amazing part is I've spent only about 6 hours a week on this site and I've earned $300 in 1 month! I can't urge you enough to try it out for yourself.
Create a writer website or blog. A website not only demonstrates your technical ability, but it also creates an online hub that allows clients to connect to you. Keep the design of your website clean and uncluttered. Include examples of your work that demonstrate the kind of writing you do. Make the samples easy to find and to read, and make it easy for visitors to figure out how to contact you.[23] . A blog highlights your technical ability and showcases your ability to write blog posts. Your blog can be about different topics than those you write about for your clients. In fact, it should be on a topic that interests you. Visitors will see that you can not only write, but you can also build an online community. A good blog has the potential to earn you many referrals for more clients.[24]

With so many businesses operating mostly, or even completely, online, it’s no wonder that many hire virtual assistants to help keep them organized and complete administrative tasks. According to the International Virtual Assistants Association, these workers are “independent contractors who (from a remote location, usually their home or office) support multiple clients in a variety of industries by providing administrative, creative, and technical services.”
If you’ve got a way with words and expertise in a niche, there are plenty of sites that will pay for articles and content you write. Think of the sites you read regularly. What can you contribute to them that would be interesting? Research your niche and then look for ways to pitch articles. Many sites will simply have a submission or contact link in the footer. To get started, check out my full guide to becoming a freelance writer on the side and then submit your articles to places like Listverse, TopTenz, A List Apart, International Living, FundsforWriters, and Textbroker.
I’m mom to three 5-and-under kiddos and I wear a number of hats. I try hard to blog (my site mariposablvd.com needs a revival) and I’ve tried to keep up an Etsy shop. Right now I’m enjoying working as an educational consultant with Usborne Books doing book parties, school book fairs and fundraisers. It’s an awesome company and I’m learning a lot about business and goal-setting and it’s very fulfilling. It’s right for me at this point to have some structure because trying to create that for myself was a huge challenge that I just couldn’t focus on. I’m also a big green living advocate and I just signed up with Poofy Organics because I want to be able to offer the choice of products I am comfortable recommending.  I love hearing about how all of you wonderful mamas are making things work! It’s not easy! Sarah Cody at For the Love of Usborne Books

How to Get It: Customer service is the biggest work-at-home field, with companies including Spiegel, Hilton, Best Western, HSN, 1-800-FLOWERS and many others using at-home reps. Fill out an application with staffing companies such as Arise, Alpine Access, VIPdesk, LiveOps, and Convergys, all of which vet the companies who are hiring through them. If you need benefits, search through a staffing company that will hire you as an employee (Alpine Access, VIPdesk and Convergys do this) rather than an independent contractor. If you're a contractor, you may be asked to pay a small fee (between $15 and $35) for a background check. While a fee can be a sign of a scam, independent contractors are responsible for their own expenses.
I appreciate the idea behind this, but I’d like more information on where these jobs can be found. I am a writer and would like to do freelance writing work, but while you mentioned that there are such jobs available, there wasn’t much to say where to find those jobs. I’ve tried to seek them out before, and done writing for places where I got paid (usually not very well), but many of those have dried up or weren’t much to begin with. Are there suggested places to go to do some freelance writing? I’d love to ditch my poorly-paying job, where I have to spend a lot of time away from my family, and do something I actually enjoy doing. Thanks.
Because the fee is so small but the task takes so little time, the strategy is to do as many of them as possible. However, be sure to read the fine print because many of these companies have a minimum payout, meaning that if you earn $8.55 doing 20 micro jobs, you may have to wait until you’ve earned as much as $50 to actually get your money. Read more about some of the pitfalls of this kind of work.

iRazoo: Search, Find, Get Paid Just like Google, iRazoo is a search engine. You get rewarded when you conduct searches. It is that simple. But They've also added many other ways to earn as well. This includes watching videos, taking surveys, answering questions and giving your opinion. I would liken iRazoo com to Swagbucks. How Does it Work? Is There an iRazoo Sign Up? Signing up for iRazoo is very easy. I did it using my Facebook account because it's just fast and convenient. But you don't … [Click to Read More...]

Consider selling in lots. A lot is a collection of similar items that is sold in a group. For example, if you have a collection of books, magazines or similar pieces of jewelry, consider selling them all at once in a lot. You many not make as much money as you would have if you sold each item separately. However, the items will likely sell more quickly in a lot than they would individually.[29]
17. Amazon – Have you heard of FBA? It stands for “Fulfilled by Amazon” and it’s getting pretty popular. Basically, you buy products (in bulk is best) and ship them to Amazon for them to store. When your products sell, Amazon packs them up, ships them out and sends you the money (after taking their cut). There are people making a full-time living from FBA, while others just do it for some extra money.

I have since contacted Global Typing Assignments one of the companies mentioned here by one Rebecca. Please, Alexa have you researched on this company which asks prospective assignment partakers to pay a registration fee? For instance, one of their registration amounts is US$100 to work? Please refer to this so that you may establish their general terms of service.
Provide excellent customer service. Answer any questions buyers post as quickly as possible. Be professional and courteous. Positive communication builds your reputation with buyers and gets you return business. Also, package your product well and ship it out quickly. Allowing an item to become damaged or taking too long to ship can negatively affect your reputation among buyers. Wrap all items, especially fragile ones, in appropriate packaging. Commit to shipping items as soon as you receive payment.[32]
